$180,000 in scholarships are awarded every year through the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. to incoming, returning and transferring students who have achieved academic success.
One scholarship of note is The RPI Medal and Scholarship. It is named in honor of Joseph H. Smith, Jr., a retired Dean at RPI who was an active force in the strong relationship between the four-year engineering schools and the community college engineering science programs. The medal and scholarship are awarded each year to Ulster’s outstanding Engineering Science graduate by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The medal winner also receives a $20,000 scholarship to continue his or her studies at RPI.
