Dear Friends,

The Ulster Community College Foundation is a vital part of the SUNY Ulster Family, and I am grateful to see the outpouring of support by our donors during a global pandemic to fund our scholarship awards and our emergency funding program, Lights for Learning In Memory of Barbara A. Adams. In the past year, we awarded over $125,000 in emergency funds to students at SUNY Ulster. In 2021, we will award over $500,000 in scholarships to students, all thanks to the commitment of our community and our generous donors. A meaningful and measurable impact is made upon the lives of our students because of you. The annual scholarships granted have grown from a total of $15,000 in 1980 to more than $500,000 in 2021-2022, a record high, all because of the generosity of our donors.

The U.S. Department of Education in 2020, designated SUNY Ulster as the only SUNY Community College listed in the top 100 Community Colleges in the United States with the lowest net price.  The impact of your generosity is an affordable and accessible education to a broader spectrum of students.

I am pleased to announce that The President’s Challenge Scholarship (PCS) initiative has expanded to all school districts in Ulster County. This initiative was founded by SUNY Ulster President, Dr. Alan P. Roberts on behalf of Ulster County 8th graders who aspire to be college-bound high school students. PCS will provide mentorship to high school students to better prepare them for a two-year college education at SUNY Ulster and will guarantee free tuition after financial aid is applied. Please join our donor community and support a student with a tuition free scholarship to SUNY Ulster.

Congratulations to our outstanding scholarship recipients!  We are so proud of you! On behalf of our Board of Directors, a heartfelt thank you to all of our contributors from our campus community, friends, alumni, civic organizations, and corporations that have made all of our scholarship awards possible. Please contact us to discuss giving options.

Sincerely,
