Educator Credentials

New York State Law requires licensed professionals, teachers and school administrators applying for the renewal of a license, registration, certificate or limited permit to complete coursework regarding child abuse, DASA (provided by BOCES, call 845-331-5050) and school violence.
Teachers, educators, administrators, classroom helpers and tutors, these courses will help you keep up-to-date with teaching trends and instructional strategies while also providing professional credentials.
Course Offerings
Teaching Assistant Level I: Pre-Apprentice Program
Interested in becoming a Teaching Assistant? Join us for this short workshop as we explain the steps needed to start as a Teaching Assistant I and then how to advance to Teaching Assistant Level II and III. Students will meet with our Teaching Assistant Faculty during this hour to learn the steps needed to start a career as a Teaching Assistant. Students then will work independently to complete:
- New York State Teacher Certification Exam
- ATAS Workshop
- Child Abuse Identification Workshop
- School Violence Intervention and Prevention Workshop
- Training in Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention (DASA training)
- Fingerprint Clearance
Students will need a copy of their high school diploma, a high school transcript, GED or an official college transcript that includes a degree conferral. Full scholarships available for this course.
