Governing Board
The Board of Trustees comprises ten citizens who serve as the College’s legal governing body (five of whom are appointed by the Ulster County Executive/Legislature and four appointed by the Governor) for seven year terms, and one student elected annually for a one-year term.

2,481 Continuing and Professional Education programs Nearly two-thirds (63%) of recent Ulster County high school graduates who started attending a SUNY community college in Fall 2025 attended SUNY Ulster. 35 percent of credit students attend full-time; that proportion is three-fifths (60%) when not considering those concurrently enrolled in high school student.
Our Credit Student Community
Students range in age from 12-82, with an average age of 21. Half of our students identify as women and half as men.
Fifty-four percent of SUNY Ulster students identify as White, 19% as Latino or Hispanic, 6% as Black or African American, and 8% as an additional race/ ethnicity (race/ethnicity is unknown for 13%).
