High School Equivalency/TASC 1 & 2

This course is a comprehensive review for students wanting to receive their High School Equivalency Diploma. Students will prepare to take the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™). This test replaced the GED® test for New York State in 2014.

The TASC™ 1 classes will focus on reading/writing, science, social studies, and mathematics. TASC™ testing is determined by pre-test scores and instructor recommendation. Students may require more than one session of preparation prior to testing. This class will include homework. TASC™ 2 course is for students who have progressed though TASC™ I but need additional review in order to sit for the TASC™ exam. This course will include review of reading/writing, science, social studies, and mathematics. This class will include homework.

Pathway to New York State Equivalency Program

On April 10, 2018, the New York State Board of Regents approved regulatory changes to provide a fourth pathway to earn a New York State Equivalency (HSE) Diploma. Individuals who have passed Regents Examinations in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies can substitute those passing scores for a maximum of four of the five corresponding Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™) subtests: Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. To learn more about this option, contact Joann Dayton-Wolf at daytonwj@sunyulster.edu. To register for any TASC course, click on the available courses below or contact the CE Registration team directly at 845-339-2025.
