British Literature II

ENG 202

English, Foreign Language & Philosophy

Credits: 3

This course will cover major works of three periods in British literary history: the Romantic Period, the Victorian Age, and the 20th Century. We will consider the works and their authors in the context of the time in which they were written as well as in a “timeless” artistic context. That means we will be talking about British history as well as about literary techniques and theory. In discussing the works, we will focus on genre, theme, and the whole grab-bag of literary techniques. Prerequisites: ENG 102 and LIB 111 with a grade of C or better, or by permission of instructor.
