We know your kids are anxious to connect with their peers and actively engage their minds this summer – all while having fun! To help you with this, we teamed up with Black Rocket,a national leader with twenty years of experience in tech-education, to provide a series of opportunities for your kids to explore their computer science curiosity.
These programs help develop creators in the S.T.E.A.M. world; refining skills for careers in their future. From coding to programming to game development to virtual reality - these courses activate learning through creative technology that appeals to all interests!

Unleash your brain power! Enter into the magical and exciting world of chess with Chess Wizards! You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more! Our specialized classes are a blast for everyone kindergarten through fifth. Whether you have been playing chess for your entire life and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends - Chess Wizards online is the place for you! We believe that Chess is the perfect summer learning tool to keep kids' minds sharp while playing a game and having fun.

Tech Requirements: Computer or tablet, microphone and internet. Chess Wizards will send more detailed information including a zoom link, web video with instructions, and login details the Friday prior to class.
This magical yoga camp will meet for one hour every day for one week, via online. You will need your own yoga mat and a computer or device with a camera and microphone. This camp is about exploring yoga and mindfulness through storytelling, music and fun magical themes! If you like, come dresses in your unicorn headband, dragon wings or whatever fun look! Through engaging activities, you will learn how to calm your minds through your movements, dancing, breathing and mindful activities. At the end of the yoga camp, you will have a sense of accomplishment because you will have new tools to calm your mind when you feel stressed or upset. Educational leader: Jennifer Tuthill is a Certified Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher and Elementary Educator.

Let us make ECO – logical art as a green solution using Zoom. Explore innovative ways to create upcycled art, creatively recycling, recreating and reusing items of all kinds from old, new to natural elements. Learn a variety of mixed media techniques throughout the week that are non-toxic to incorporate into your recycled art creations. This course encourages creative solutions by rethinking our collective carbon footprint through the tools of creating eco art. All skill levels invited. Taught via zoom, this will be a fun and interactive summer enrichment with special guests. On Friday, there will be an online art exhibit of your creations (inclusion optional) at the end of the session.
You may invite family and friends to attend the exhibit. Educational Leader: Star Nigro is a local interdisciplinary artist, professional photographer and program director for My Kingston Kids.
