Matt Brennie was hired in June of 2015 as Athletic Director at Ulster Community College, and has transformed the department immensely since his tenure began. He has oversaw the addition of the Cross Country, Softball, and Wrestling programs, while moving all programs across the board up to the Division I and Division II levels. Brennie has helped allocate Athletic Scholarships for qualifying student athletes at Ulster, and has overseen the on field improvements of Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball, and Wrestling. In addition, he has implemented mandatory study hall, which lead to seven student athletes being named NJCAA Academic All-Americans in 2017.
Brennie has also guided improved recruiting numbers overall for the Athletic Department, and has created a Sport and Exercise Science program that will begin in the Fall of 2017. No stranger to Ulster, Brennie previously served as Assistant Softball Coach at SUNY New Paltz from 2011-2013, and SUNY Ulster from 2010-2011. He also served as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Marist College in 2003, and was a standout three sport athlete at Highland High School.
Brennie graduated from Wake Forest with a Bachelors in Communications in 2002 where he was a two sport athlete in Baseball and Football. His career included two ACC Baseball Championships in 1999 and 2001, and an Aloha Bowl Appearance in Football where he was the teams Punter.
He currently resides in Pleasant Valley, NY with his wife Evelyn, and his two boys Matthew and Lucas.
