How Much Will It Cost?
PAYING FOR COLLEGE
Students are expected to pay their Fall/Spring/Summer/Winter college bills by the scheduled deadline dates.
Students can have financial aid (grants, loans, scholarships) applied toward their bill. If the financial aid is more than the bill, the student will receive check(s) for the balance.
If the financial aid is not sufficient to pay the college bill, the student must pay the balance by:
- Cash, check or money order
- Charge Card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover.)
Click here for Online Tuition Payment.
- Debit Card
- TuitionPay
Payment Plan
(Note: TuitionPay is only available for payment of Fall and Spring semester tuition.)
- Alternative loans
- Outside Resources (VESID, INVEST, GI Bill, National Guard Tuition Plan, etc.)
There are three ways to pay for college:
- PAY NOW (before college): You can save money and
invest it before the student is ready for college, and use
those savings to pay for college.
- PAY DURING COLLEGE: You can pay while attending
college with Financial Aid, personal
charge accounts, TuitionPay Payment Plan,
and discretionary savings from take home pay.
- PAY LATER: Or, you can pay later by repayment of
student and personal loans that were borrowed.
SPECIAL NOTE:
FEDERAL PELL Grant
Students can apply for the Federal Pell Grant through June
30, 2008 (there are no exceptions to this deadline). However,
the application process can take up to 21 days so students should apply
(online) by May 1, 2007.
The students must have a valid Student Aid Report (or ISIR) and all required income/other documentation in
the Financial Aid Office to receive a disbursement while still
enrolled.
Students must meet all student eligibility requirements.
All students are responsible for paying the tuition/fee bill
in the Student Accounts Office by the scheduled deadline
date.
NYS TAP:
Students receive an Express
TAP Application (ETA) by completing the FAFSA and listing SUNY Ulster (school code 002880).
A student can submit the ETA with a postmark (or online) no
later than May 1, 2008.
Students are responsible for paying the tuition/fee bill in
the Student Accounts Office by the scheduled deadline date.
Each student can view their TAP Awards at www.hesc.org.
Campus-based aid:
SEOG, Perkins Loan, College Work/Study and EOP are programs with limited funds. Students who
apply and meet all eligibility criteria by the priority deadline
date are more likely to receive those funds.
Stafford Loans:
Students may submit the Master Promissory Note (available in the Financial Aid office) after
the scheduled college bill deadline date, but should be prepared
to pay the tuition/fee bill in the Student Accounts Office
by the scheduled due date and to purchase their own book/supplies.
