Business Studies

Jointly-Registered Certificate Program
with SUNY New Paltz

Program Description
This jointly-registered certificate program is designed to prepare "Non-Business" baccalaureate holders to enter Master of Science in Business programs at SUNY New Paltz. The Business Studies program requires completion of 32 credits of typical lower-division undergraduate business courses. Required course work consists of introductory studies in economics, business, mathematics, and computer science. A number of the courses or course equivalents may be completed at SUNY Ulster. The certificate in Business Studies will be awarded by the college granting the most credit.

Employment Potential
Graduates of a Master of Science in Business program SUNY New Paltz will qualify for management positions in their specialty areas.

Requirements for Program Entry

  • A baccalaureate in a "non-business" field.
  • Satisfactory placement in Entering Student Assessment

Developmental Assistance Available
For students who do not meet basic reading and math requirements, or who have other learning issues, extra assistance is readily available through SUNY Ulster's Learning Center, Times Square math lab, the Writing Center, the Peer and Friend Tutor Program, and English as a Second Language (ESL) tutors.
