SeniorNet

SeniorNet provides a variety of computer classes for adults age 50 and over. SeniorNet educates older adults in a warm and friendly environment with the use of specially prepared manuals. Classes rarely cosmprise more than 14 students with an instructor as well as one coach for every three to four people. Courses offered are varied and include Introduction, Word Processing, Internet and e-mail, Spread Sheet, Photo Editing, Digital Photography, and File Management. Two hour workshops on special topics are also offered periodically throughout the year.

It is a program for seniors, taught by seniors, in small classes, at a speed and in language that Seniors can understand and follow. Classes are held weekdays at the Business Resource Center on Ulster Avenue in Kingston.

The instructors and coaches are seniors, too. They are all volunteers and some of them have learned their skills by taking SeniorNet courses. Class fees are modest and include the manual and free practice labs.

For more information about the classes, see the latest Continuing Education brochure from SUNY Ulster, or call SeniorNet at (845) 331-9360.
