Programs for Seniors

SUNY Ulster’s commitment to the senior population of Ulster County is demonstrated through its sponsorship of programs such as SeniorNet and RSVP .  SeniorNet provides a variety of computer classes for adults age 50 and over.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) has over 500 senior volunteers placed in almost 100 locations throughout the County. The Neighbor to Neighbor Program, which provides voluntary services to seniors in need of transportation to medical appoints, shopping and medically necessary errands, or friendly visits, is also a part of the RSVP.  The RSVP Neighbor to Neighbor Program is a member of the NorthEast New York Caregivers Consortium.

The RSVP Travel Club, which schedules trips and activities throughout the year to areas throughout the country, is being reorganized and hopes to be scheduling trips again soon.  Look for more information during the Fall of 2007.   Previous trips have included Saratoga Race Track, Radio City Music Hall, Atlantic City, Mohegan Sun, and overnight trips to Myrtle Beach, the Maine coast, and many more.  Check back in the fall for a schedule of events or to learn more about this enjoyable program.
