The J-STD-001 CIS course is modularized over the course of five days. Attendees will be subjected to written examinations and must assemble and solder acceptable workmanship samples. Students who successfully complete this course are awarded an IPC CIS Certification valid for two years.. The following subjects are addressed during this course: Module 1: Specification Review, Module 2: Wire Preparation & Terminals, Module 3: Through-hole Printed Wiring Board, Module 4: SMT Printed Wiring Board, Module 5: Inspection and Process Control. The ideal candidates for this course are Production Operators, Inspectors, Technicians, Rework Operators, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Process Engineers and Management personnel who desire to expand their comprehension of the process and quality criteria in the J-STD-001 Specification and/or receive verification of their hand soldering skills.
