Business Services

As part of our commitment to economic development, SUNY Ulster’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education provides an array of services to support business growth and expansion.

The Development Center for Business provides education and training for new, expanding and existing businesses in our region. The Business Resource Center, the College’s extension site in Kingston, serves as a one-stop center and houses the New York State Department of Labor, the Ulster County Office for Employment and Training, the Ulster County Development Corporation and an interactive video conferencing center.

The College sponsors the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center (SBDC) . The SBDC specializes in one-to-one professional business counseling and technical assistance to new or existing small businesses. Serving a wide region, the main office is located at the Business Resource Center. The Women & Minority Business Institute (WMBI) resides with SBDC and addresses the unique issues that women and minority entrepreneurs and small business owners encounter.

The Mid Hudson Health and Safety Institute works regionally to provide programs to reduce worker risk and comply with mandated Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) requirements.

The College also sponsors the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) . RSVP recruits Ulster County residents age 55 years or older and matches their experience to one or more member agencies. Their volunteer time is devoted to address community problems in the areas of economic development, education, environment, health, human services and safety.
