Driver Education

SUNY Ulster's Driver Education clases are offered in six locations: Kingston, Accord, New Paltz, Wallkill, Marlboro and Ellenville.

The driver-training program, which is approved by the NYS Education Department Traffic Safety Unit and the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is a 48-hour course. Included are 24 hours of in-car instruction (six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, 18 hours of in-car observation), and 24 hours of classroom training, and orientation.

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate, which may allow you a reduction in your insurance. This program is administered in cooperation with an area auto school.

This is a 32 session course, and the total cost is $449.00 for the Summer course, and $449 for the Fall and Spring courses.
