The program has grown to involve all 50 states (and Ontario) with over 14,000 schools participating. (To view the official website of the New York State Science Olympiad, click here.)

The tournament consists of both individual and team events designed to encourage increased participation in the areas of math, science, and technology. The top 3 finishing teams are invited to participate in the New York State Olympiad. Top finishers will then move on to the National Competition.
