Athletic Director: Jim Delmar
A SUNY Ulster alumnus, Jim Delmar was named Athletic Director in 2011 and also serves on the SUNY Ulster Association Board for student activities. Delmar maintains active membership as the SUNY Ulster Athletic Director in the Mid-Hudson Conference Region XV and NJCAA, and also is a committee member for women’s volleyball and men’s baseball for Region XV.
He also currently serves as the Facility and Golf Tournament Manager for Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland, bringing a unique set of experiences from public, private and institutional athletic and recreational venues.
Prior to his current role, Delmar was coordinator of recreation, wellness and leisure programs for the IBM site in East Fishkill. He also has worked as the Director of Parks, Buildings, Grounds, Recreation and Open Space for the towns of Lloyd, Chester and Poughkeepsie. Delmar also has been golf operations manager for Highlands Country Club in Garrison; Hudson National Golf Club, Croton-on-Hudson; and Mansion Ridge, Monroe.
Over the past 20 years, Delmar has coached basketball, baseball, soccer and softball from the modified to varsity levels at public schools in Garrison, Millbrook and Highland. He has received coaching honors over his long career from the Daily Freeman, Times Herald-Record and Poughkeepsie Journal, and was named Coach of the Year for Girls Basketball, Section 9, Class B, Region and State affiliates.
Delmar also is currently head varsity baseball and girls varsity basketball coach at Highland Central School District and has been fall assistant head coach for women’s softball at SUNY New Paltz.
He has been selected to the Dutchess County men’s softball fast pitch Hall of Fame. Delmar also has been recognized on the state Senate floor for his and his team’s contributions and achievements to youth sports and athletics.
Assistant Athletic Director: Michael Groeters
In addition to coaching soccer, basketball and track and field at SUNY Ulster, Mike also coaches at Onteora High School. A graduate of Onteora High School, he holds a physical education degree from SUNY Cortland and an education degree from SUNY New Paltz.
Physical Education/Athletic Assistant: Francine Trippodo
A 1970 alumnus of SUNY Ulster, Fran has been an employee of the college’s physical education and athletics department since she graduated with an associate’s degree. She also holds a bachelor’s degree. Fran handles all administrative activities for Physical Education and Athletics.
