Financial Executive and Civic Leader

As both a business professional and a civic-minded citizen, Bill Spearman is known for leadership by example. During his 34 years of service in the credit union industry, Bill has become a highly regarded member of the finance community. Currently president and CEO of the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Bill used his business acumen and determination to preserve the credit union after the departure of IBM. Under his leadership, the credit union celebrated its 40th year and was recognized as “Best Financial Institution in the Mid-Hudson Valley” in a regional competition. He has also served in many credit union professional associations.

Bill was recently appointed chair of the Ulster Community College Foundation Board. His commitment to education is also expressed in a special program at MHVFCU that encourages employees to enroll in degree programs. Bill serves the community through the Kingston Kiwanis Club and on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. He established a Community Relations Committee at the credit union which has led to sponsorship of local events and the receipt of the statewide Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility.

Bill received his B.S. from SUNY Albany and is an M.B.A. candidate at Marist College. He lives with his wife in Lake Katrine. His son attends SUNY Brockport.
