William Berardi

Business Executive and Community Volunteer

John A. Coleman High School has served the students of Ulster County since 1966. When the Archdiocese of New York announced its decision to discontinue support for Coleman, many members of the community were stunned at the potential loss of the educational opportunities that Coleman offered.

Among those who received the news, a few immediately jumped into action to reverse the decision or, if not reverse it, to create a structure that would allow Coleman to continue as an independent Catholic school serving the community.

One man who contributed significantly to that uphill effort was William Berardi. Through numerous meetings, telephone conferences, work sessions and rallies to create and sustain a groundswell, Bill Berardi and several dedicated citizens galvanized the community to fight the closing and plan for a secure future for the school.

Today, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Coleman High School, Bill is recognized for his unwavering commitment to keeping the school open and attracting students to maintain enrollment. Bill's work on behalf of Coleman is only the latest effort in a life-long commitment to his community and the organizations that sustain it.

Bill serves as a trustee of both the Arthur R. Satz Memorial Scholarship Fund and the John W. Ham Scholarship Fund. He is a member of the Board of Governors of Twaafskill Golf Club and a member of the John A. Coleman Booster Club. Previously, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, the Kingston Fire Fund, and as a member of the School Building Campaign for the Brookside School.

Bill received both his B.S. and his M.B.A. from Marist College. He is the principal shareholder in the firm Berardi, Lindgren & Gottstine, CPA's, P.C. His firm frequently provides discounted services to not-for-profit organizations throughout the County. He resides in Kingston with his wife, Susan, and his children, Philip and Mary.

Ulster County Community College applauds Bill's vision and strong dedication to his community.
