Robert Carey
Robert Carey, President of Carey Construction Company, has achieved distinction for his work in restoring historical buildings.
His most high-profile project to date has been the restoration of Kingston's "Old City Hall," for which he won a Build New York Award from the General Building Contractors of New York State in 2000. The project also won a national 2001 Build America Award, as well as an award from the New York State Preservation League.
Bob Carey holds an associate in science degree and an associate in applied science degree in engineering from SUNY Ulster. He praises the College for its excellent teachers, small class size, and supportive atmosphere.
Mr. Carey's career in restoration of old homes and buildings began with his renovation of his own Queen Anne home which, in his words, "sparked my career." Since its inception in 1986, Carey Construction has grown to about 37 employees and serves the Mid-Hudson, Metropolitan New York, and Albany Capital District regions. Carey is currently working on a large restoration project at the historic All Saints Cathedral in Albany.
