SUNY Ulster welcomes International students. This year students representing Nigeria, Japan, China, Poland, Brazil, Taiwan, Romania, and Morocco, to name a few countries, are studying at SUNY Ulster.

Due to the additional paperwork involved in the application process, International students should read the information regarding the application procedures, fees, and tuition payment carefully.
Application Deadlines:
- Fall Semester - June 1
- Spring Semester - November 1
- Summer Sessions - April 1
SEVIS Fees:
- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) provides for the collection of a Congressionally mandated fee to be paid by certain aliens who are seeking status as nonimmigrant students (visa categories F-1, F-3, M-1, or M-3) or as nonimmigrant exchange visitors (visa category J-1). The purpose of this fee is to cover the costs for the continued operation of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), including the administration and maintenance of SEVIS, compliance activities, and the establishment of SEVIS Liaison Officers. Tuition Payment:
- International students must pay half of the semester's tuition

Admission Requirements:

Listed below are the basic requirements for International students for admission to SUNY Ulster.
- Complete and submit either SUNY Ulster's no-fee online application or a SUNY online application (an application fee is required with this application).
- Complete and submit SUNY Ulster's International Student Application Forms (download and print a copy here):
~ Proof of financial support. (A minimum of $15,540 American dollars.)
~ Proof of English Proficiency
~ Personal essay - Immunizations - Students born after January 1, 1957 must have immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella.
~ Proof of immunization must be provided at registration. For more
information click here.
~ New York State Public Health Law (NYS PHL) §2167 also requires
institutions, including colleges and universities, to distribute
information about meningococcal disease and vaccination to all
students. For more information and required forms, click here. - International student must also provide:
~ Proof of completion of secondary school (tranlated).
~ Transcripts from other insititutions of higher learning (translated). - International students must also:
~ Take both the ESL (English as a Second Language) portion of SUNY Ulster's COMPASS Assessment Test and the regular COMPASS Test for placment purposes in math and English. - Applicants with Permanent Resident Status (Green Card)
