This 3 credit course provides an introduction to the ecology and biodiversity of the Neotropics.  Following a short on-campus introduction, the entire course is held on-site in Panama.  We will visit a wide array of habitat types from highland cloud forest (some reached by horseback), to lowland rainforest and costal systems, which will include snorkeling in coral reefs on an island off the Pacific coast.  In taking the course you would be directly contributing to conservation efforts in Panama by supporting our enlightened tour agency that plows a portion of profits back into cloud forest conservation.  One of the cloud forest sites that we will visit is remote, and on private land, and has been found to harbor new species of frogs, orchids and beetles.

Trip cost covers almost everything

Excluded is passport, visa and vaccinations.
